Things I Love

At Remodelista, we only ever write about what we really like, which means we are bombarded daily with covetable goods.

The upside is that I know something new is always going to come along. It's a great way to live vicariously. There's not much that I actually need, so I when I do make a purchase, it has to be something I really love.
Moon Lampshade

Moon Lampshade

LA-based, Brit designer Tracy Wilkinson has spent many years in the fashion industry but has branched out with a line of clay pots and, more recently, these woven sculptural lampshades. I am hooked on her Moon Lampshade.
Ruan Hoffman Tiles

Ruan Hoffman Tiles

Tiles seem to be having a heyday. I'm seeing sensible white subway tiles give way to more graphic, colorful ones. Case-in-point: these Ruan Hoffman tiles that I am currently coveting in different shades of blue. My favorite is the love tile from his Much Love Me collection.
Dieppa Restrepo Cali High Platform

Dieppa Restrepo Cali High Platform

I kept following these shoes on Pinterest because I liked them so much until I realized that I could just buy them instead of pin them.
TOKYO Citizen Bike

TOKYO Citizen Bike

I take the ferry to work, and there is nothing better than cycling along San Francisco's Embarcadero first thing in the morning with the Bay as my backdrop. The bike is small enough to fit in the back of my tiny Fiat 500, and I keep the seat and handlebars low enough so I only need to do one adjustment when I put it into the car. (Keeping the seat low does mean I look a little dorky on my bike, but the convenience makes it worth it!)
Roost Ellipse Chair

Roost Ellipse Chair

I don't need another outdoor chair, but I am sorely tempted by this Ellipse Chair for my porch. It's a great iteration of the classic Acapulco chair.
Sony Alpha Nex 3

Sony Alpha Nex 3

I am forever seeing design-worthy things to feature, and although we occasionally post iPhone shots on Remodelista (amazingly good for on-the-fly), I was looking for something more substantial that was small enough to fit in my bag. After much sleuthing and wading through product reviews, I just purchased the Sony Alpha Nex 3 camera (in white). Loving the images — it's a big step up from a point and shoot and is super easy to use, has adjustable lenses and is easy to carry around.
Remodelista: A Manual for the Considered Home

Remodelista: A Manual for the Considered Home

The Remodelista book (our first) is finally here and I’m excited to give copies to friends and family. It’s been a long work in progress, and it’s gratifying to see it in actual book form.
