Fall marks a simultaneous celebration of the outdoors — walking through crinkly leaves, planting spring bulbs, enjoying the very best of produce of the year — and the beginning of a retreat back into our homes. Here are my favorite choices for the season.
Wood and Leather Camp Stool
Made for easy setup around the campfire, this simple leather stool also looks like the
perfect solution for propping feet in a tiny apartment.
Carrière Cedar Candle
I’m a firm believer in the transformative power of a good candle. Carrière Frères make some
of the most deliciously scented candles I’ve found, and the botanical illustrations on their
glass holders have me wanting to collect them all.
Muscari Mixture
I don’t have much garden space to speak of, but this year I plan to drop a few bulbs into
the ground anyway. A blue muscari mixture sounds just right for fall planting.
Burgon & Ball Bulb Planter
This sturdy bulb planter has the seal of approval from the Royal Horticultural Society; the
perfect tool for my fall bulb planting plans.
The Park Sloper Senior Wallet and Notebook
I’m not precisely in need of a new wallet, but this combination notebook sleeve and card
carrier looks like just the thing for jotting down post ideas and recording interview notes,
not to mention keeping track of my MetroCard.
